Three facts shape how we build.
Pulse oximeters can overestimate oxygen levels in people with darker skin. Black women face higher maternal risk. Women have been under-represented in important clinical trials, leaving gaps in the evidence behind care.
These are not abstract design concerns. They are reasons to ask who a system works for, whose experience shaped it, and what happens when it gets something wrong. We are designing against these gaps—not claiming to have solved them.
